Varela Hermanos · Pesé, Herrera

Where tradition took root.

In the heart of Pesé, Herrera, Hacienda San Isidro has carried the Varela family story for more than a century. Here, Don José Varela Blanco established Ingenio San Isidro in 1908. In 1936, the family began distilling sugar-cane spirit. Today the estate is home to Panama's oldest distillery — and it is here that Rey del Istmo is distilled.
